Reworked/updated version of my February 2014 song, "Dive," with added synths, remastering, and a new ending.

feel around you, the sea floor glows
the light at the surface
can't touch the heat in our bones

as you dive deeper, the water feels like home
with only this tether between us
there's no reason to go back to shore

the pressure gauge tells us
we're fools in over our heads
but we'll only dive deeper
we thrive in the depths

currents of heat surround us, we're part of this plan
and when you feel the cold
just hold on to my hand

you see fear in my eyes as we strain to look up ahead
but as long as we hold up the anchor
darkness can't hold us yet

tourists we've awestruck
with the deepest dive yet
but miracles do happen
if you'd only get wet

tell me it's possible
to swim forever
this tenacity's unyielding
I will never let go
this journey will bring us to ruin
but I don't mind

one with the sea
we will be at peace
your ending is next to me
we'll be finally free

as the darkness consumed us
I became aware
for my heart to keep beating
I'd need to come up for air
